V.B., 28, a journalist from Nakuru, Kenya

My quarantine experience has been wonderful. I have enjoyed staying with my children and got a chance to teach them how to cook. Apart from that it gave me a chance to write and edit my stories better. I even won an award from the Media Council of Kenya as one of the best science writers on covid-19 stories. Also I have used the time to reconnect with my family and community. It has also given me a chance to garden which l love very much Finally, l have realised that the commuting to work is a waste of time since all that I achieved was change of location. My achievement have been actuated, due to the comfortable surroundings of my home, and I don’t have to share dirty toilets with my colleagues.
