Vedika Kanchan @vedikax Stanford Student, Class of 2023 #quarantinegallerysu #quarantinegallery Artist Statement: I have been painting since I was four. From the scribbles behind the kitchen door to canvases twice my height, art has always been my catharsis and my voice. Some of my works were displayed at the Piramal Art Gallery in the National Center of Performing Arts in Mumbai in a solo exhibition titled, "Sonder." Each painting is inspired by a conversation I had, words I read and stories that I heard while traveling - whether that was the 50-year-old cancer survivor that quit her corporate job to open a cafe in Santorini or a historian in Venice that spent most of her childhood sailing along the Amalfi coast. My world would be nothing without the people I've met.
