S.R., 71, a homemaker in Murrieta, CA

In our home we have three generations.  I am the Grandmother, my daughter and son in law with their now two teenage children all live together.

It’s been difficult for the kids to be isolated from school and friends. They have missed important milestones in their lives that would normally be celebrated with their friends and family in person but now it has to be over the internet or phone.  It is especially hard for my granddaughter who is a senior in high school this year.

We have been able to self isolate from March 2020. We have the use of Instacart to buy our grocery items and they deliver them to our home.  We use the internet to buy our other items.

It was an nightmare eye opener for all of us to find essential items out of stock like toilet paper, bread, beans, tortillas, eggs, fresh meat. milk and fresh vegetables. Still today there are items out of stock and limited availability.  Thankfully it seems to have stabilized partially.

We are blessed to be safe in our home and so far without being infected with COVID 19. We are waiting for the vaccine and hope that we will be able to meet with family, friends and have our lives back to what they were like before.
